Hello! Welcome to HILL AND HEDGE Maine Coons, owned by us: Caitlin and Will MacKenzie. We are a small West Michigan-based Maine Coon cattery specializing in healthy, socialized, family-friendly feline pets.

Although Caitlin is originally from Michigan and Will is from Indiana, we met in Portland, Oregon in 2011 and got married in 2016. Our journey with cats began in 2014 with two rescue kittens we adopted, Jem and Scout. Since 2014, we’ve added another rescue cat, Orion, and three pet pigs: Xena, Hercules, and Odysseus. We moved back to Michigan in 2022 to pursue multi-generational living in Caitlin’s childhood home with her parents. On our farm of four acres, we currently raise Karakul sheep and Bourbon Red turkeys, as well as caring for a flock of laying chickens.

In early 2024, we embarked on our journey with Maine Coon cats. Our interest in Maine Coons derived from our desire to get a dog-like cat, not being able to get a real dog due to our pet pigs. Pigs and dogs are not compatible in the same household due to the prey (pig) vs. predator (dog) dynamic. We are thrilled with the personalities of our Maine Coons and can’t wait to share them with other cat lovers in Michigan, the Midwest and beyond.
